Boston, MA - November 22nd, 2024:
A trip to Boston - a trip down memory lane. Bill called me up, Dan, I got us a gig at The Rat!! This is where The Jam and The Police played. We met a girl named Caryn, a DJ. She told us to send our demo to Mikey Dee at WMFO. Subway Station on College Radio!! The Rat inspired the lyric line to Subway Station:
I’m just a rat in a habitrail
I’m just a rat can’t you see my tail
Subway Station, Destiny, Destination.
Listen to Subway Station - On College Radio - WMFO!!
Long Gone
I didn't listen to myself when
I said don't believe her eyes.
She's not for me she held me tight.
I didn't take my own advice
But I gave in I went with her
I guess I'll never change
She held my hand she looked so good
She smiled when she said
I wish, I wish I never met you
I wish, I never laid my eyes upon you
Most of all I'll soon forget you
Now that you're gone,
Long Gone.
If I listened to myself.
I wouldn't know her color eyes.
If I listened to myself,
I wouldn't know her deep despise.
But I caved in, I talked to her.
I hope I never change.
She held my hand, she looked so good
She smiled when she said.
I wish, I wish I never met you, I wish, I never laid my eyes upon you. Most of all, I'll soon forget you, Now that you're gone,
Long Gone.
The Immigrants ~ 30th Anniversary of Charlestown CD
A Radio Tribute to Bill Sheridan of The Immigrants
Boston, MA - November 5th, 2024 — The Immigrants are celebrating the 30th Anniversary of their Charlestown CD released on Railway House Records on November 5th, 1994. The Charlestown album is a tribute to the band-leader, Bill Sheridan.
Bill’s band, The Immigrants, performed at many venues in the Boston area including The Rat, The Bog, The Middle East, Club 3, T.T. the Bears, and last but not least, The Causeway. His songs were often played on college radio, most recently by The Hawk, 104.9 FM in the Lakes Region.
As a singer/songwriter in his band, The Immigrants, Bill composed many songs with his brother Dan which were released on a 16-song CD entitled Charlestown on Railway House Records in 1994 to favorable reviews in the music press.
“Their melodic instincts are quite keen and the vocalist's phrasing is original and chuck full of irresistible hooks. The next Morphine? Watch this space. Pick hit: "Subway Station." Tape of the Month.

Baby Sue Music Review
~ Atlanta, Georgia ~
Atlanta, GA - Summer, 1995 — Amazingly unpretentious music from this Charlestown, MA duo. If you're looking for busy arrangements and mountains of studio tricks, you can skip to the next review.
But if you like smart pop delivered in a straight forward fashion with no frills or gimmicks, you'll want to check out The Immigrants. My favorite tunes here are "Jackie Boy," "Changemaker," and "Shot to Pieces."
This here thing goes to show how cool underground music really can be.

Jackie Boy — "This is a polished single!"
Jackie Boy takes me back to Alternative Rock Anthems like The Pixies' "Here Comes Your Man" and Weezer's "Buddy Holly"
by Ama Cruz
Boston, MA - October 16th, 2024 — I'd just like to begin by expressing how much I love the name of this band, The Immigrants, as well as the name of this song, Jackie Boy - Requiem for a Slugger.
The instrumental performances of the drums and guitar takes me back to beloved 90s grunge alternative rock anthems like The Pixies' "Here Comes Your Man" and Weezer's "Buddy Holly" with the melodic guitars, and roughness, yet a song that makes you want to dance -- like Jackie Boy. This is a polished single!
With the sound of a baseball game and a cheering crowd, rooting for our underdog, Jackie Boy, The Immigrants blend a cool melodic, surf-rock guitar, a superb vocal performance, reminiscent of Black Francis of The Pixies, or Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth. This is classic alternative rock at its best!
Jackie Boy will be deeply appreciated by audiences who love alt. rock, grunge, shoegazing, and noise pop.For audiences who love live performances, or anyone seeking REAL and raw music these days, given the pop, synth and auto-tune world we are living in, be sure to check out The Immigrants.
